Renter stops paying rent after homeowner refuses her demands to give her home equity for ‘helping with house payments’, homeowner kicks her out: ‘That's not how this works’

If you want to have a roof over your head, that usually means you will have to pay for it. Whether you are a homeowner who pays a mortgage, or a renter who pays rent, you need money to afford having a place to call home; that is just a fact.

However, some fully grown adults out here refuse to accept this fact, so they lash out while trying to find places to call home without having to pay money for it. We already know that many young adults (and sometimes even fully adult adults) continue to live with their parents to save money. They are completely fine with staying in their childhood bedrooms while their parents bear the financial consequences of having them around.

Others turn to their friends, and sometimes even complete strangers, in bizarre attempts to get them to sacrifice their own assets for them. Take, for example, people who would sign a lease to rent a place, then refuse to pay when rent is due. Anything to not pay for something as basic as a home.

    Sugarmagmom22 I had a roommate once who believed that you're only worth what you owe. He always paid his share of the rent. But he would take out the max in student loans, drop all of his classes, get the money refunded and live it up. I moved out once the lease was up.
